If Together We Would Be

Onyx and Uni sat down underneath the giant oak tree and leaned back against the trunk. The two adults held hands as they relaxed, enjoying the warm summer day. "It's nice to have some time to ourselves, isn't it?" The yellow-eyed skeleton asked. His mate nodded in agreement.

"Especially when I get to spend it with you." They replied. He blushed bright yellow and chuckled a bit.

"I could say the same thing." Onyx told them. Both of them smiled and nuzzled each other. They stayed like that for a while, just enjoying each other's company, then Onyx sat up and turned to face his mate. "Uni?"

"Yeah?" They replied as they looked up at him, noticing that he looked a bit nervous.

"I, uh...I made a song for you. Would you like to hear it?" He asked. Uni smiled and nodded.

"I'd love to hear it. Especially if you wrote it yourself." Onyx blushed a little as he smiled, then pulled out a guitar.

"Well, it's not very long so I guess it's more like a poem, but I still want to sing it." He told them. The star-eyed skeleton nodded and sat up as they faced him. Onyx took a deep breath and started to play. It was a calm melody, similar to the songs he usually played on his ocarina, then he started to sing. His voice was filled with the emotions he felt towards the love of his life.

If together we would be." Onyx looked up when he finished and his eyes widened when he saw Uni tearing up. "Uni? Oh god, i-it was a terrible song wasn't it?" They shook their head and smiled as they wiped away the tears.

"No, i...it was lovely, Onyx. Thank you." The star-eyed skeleton said, then went over and kissed him. Onyx relaxed and kissed back. "I love you."

"I love you too."
